2008 / 2009 -Sara Guyer is associate professor of English and Director of the Center for the Humanities. She also is the recipient of a Vilas Associates Award. Her book, Romanticism After Auschwitz (Stanford) appeared in 2007. Recent publications include essays published (or forthcoming) in boundary 2, Studies in Romanticism, CR: The New Centennial Review, Critical Survey, and Diacritics. In the last eighteen months, Professor Guyer has presented papers at UCLA, Dartmouth College, the University of Chicago, and Colgate University, as well as at the conferences of the Modern Language Association, North American Society for the Study of Romanticism, and International Conference on Romanticism. She is currently at work on a book devoted to Romanticism and the Poetics of Homelessness, and in Spring 2009, she will teach “Jacques Derrida and Modern Jewish Thought,” for which she received a CJS Course Development Grant in 2005.
